Sometimes the simplest things are the most useful, everyone likes to sit on the floor especially when you have lots of friends around. There is always a rush to find enough cushions to go around, it’s not nice sitting on laminate for a long period of time let me tell you.

This green floor cushion from Heals.co.uk not only acts as padding for the floor at home but it can also be taken out and about with you wherever you may need it. A picnic in the park , a nice laze on the rocky part of the beach needn’t be spoiled by the uncomfortable seating arrangements. It has a handle too so you don’t have to clutch it to your chest wherever you go.

I can never say the words “fruit basket” with out cracking a smile , but to have the words trolley and fruit basket in one sentence and I think I may  need to lie down. The comedy aside this item is fantastic something a little different to put your fruit in, kids will love this too. Dwell.co.uk has a lot of fantastic things on their site and it is better known for furniture but there are a lot of good looking accessories too and this is just one.

Made from chrome wire to resemble a shopping trolley it even has it’s own wheels , not sure if you could take it down the supermarket though you may get strange looks. Next time you want to do some fruit shopping this will be your ideal companion.

These are the IN thing for the young urban trend setters amongst us. It’s a far cry from having a deck chair in the back garden or pulling one of the dining chairs into use. Not only does it look really cool it rocks too, both style wise and in real terms.

so if you want to laze out in the Sun and get caught in the rain showers (how pessimistic of me) then get your hands on one of these from Eden Forest, not the forest but the online shop. At £99 it’s not that expensive either, but I bare no responsibility for the arguments that ensue as to who turn it is on the rocker.

It is always nice to have something unique in your home, although high street homewares are the staple for most people it’s always nice to look around for something a little different to add some chic to your home.

What better way to do this than combine artistic creation with a practical item just like this double candlestick made from copper and steel. From the art of metal the flutes are held to the base with an elegant metal stem. This would make a great addition to a room adding some artistic spirit to the decor.

Leather Rocker Chair

Friday
Jul 4,2008

There was a time when the humble rocking chair was made out of wood and was the domain of the grandfather of the family, life went on whist he quietly sat and contemplated a youth gone by a long time ago. There was also a time when the furniture and homeware was only sold by the specialist store and not by supermarkets.

This leather rocker (notice NOT rocking chair) changes all the misconceptions, firstly it is made out of trendy leather and it sits on the floor , not some wodden frame. Secondly I found it being sold by ASDA and not some specialist chair store, the world is changing everyone is selling homeware.

This chair will serve it purpose it is relatively cheap it is trendy and you could easily see a 20 something sitting on it playing video games into the early hours. A great little item from ASDA.

Hygiene in and around the dinner table is of utmost importance, however always keeping things clean and tidy isn’t easy.  Toothpicks have always been a fiddly affair who can forget the famous scene from Rain Man and Dustin Hoffman counting the toothpicks.

This toothpick dispenser not only looks pretty nice, it will also help dispense toothpicks for you. One push of the black sides pops another toothpick into the outstretched arms of the man inside.  It’s clean, it’s tidy and it can hold 50 toothpicks what else do you want for £19.95, well done designerbox for putting this on your site.

Inspired by Africa and a trip to beautiful Nowhere designer Bridget West has created a stunning range of products at Pieces of You. Using an ethical eco-friendly design philosophy her products are appealing beyond just their looks.

This cushion made from ‘unloved’ textiles really stands out mainly due to the streak of orange embroidery running through the middle, the button just add the right amount of handcrafted feel. Even by looking at the photo you can tell this is not a machine produced item.
